As I think of my day I want to tell you a little story that I read, I am not sure who wrote this but here it is ‘A jockey won many races and on interviewing him the question was raised: “How is it that you win so many races?” Jockey replied “Before I race I go to the stables and read a poem to my horse. Roses are red, violets are blue, and horses that lose become glue.”’ Tee hee that was so funny the horse heard the message loud and clear.
Sometimes we don’t hear the message, our race in life is a journey and we should try and learn something new each day. To become someone of greatness you actually have to take that first step. How on earth did the Olympic champions make it? They started somewhere, first learned how to swim and then they entered competitions.
My first steps are little I started writing my blog, I then thought I would like to write more and have now started to write my ‘Daily Devotions’. I also entered competitions and so far I have been published. It may seem little victories to you but to me they are giant step into the right direction.
My journey in life is a stepping stone to something great, I am working towards my future. I want to make my life count for my children’s sake and I want them to have a legacy. They will build on my journey, hopefully take something out of my journey and build on it.
Speaking to one of my friends I said to her ‘My journey in life is very much the same as that of salmon. This fish is always swimming upstream.’ I don’t mind, it has made me stronger, wiser and more determined to make it. I will never give up; my journey here on earth will make a difference in people’s lives.
